| Acrostic Poetry Activity: In this activity you are going to write an ACROSTIC poem. Acrostic poems differ from other types of poems in that the first letter of each line spells a word which can be read vertically. The rhyme scheme and number of lines will vary in each poem.
Assignment #1: Brainstorm at least 10 people, things or ideas you could use to write an acrostic poem. Choose 3 of you favorites. Open a Word document. Type the first letters of the word you have chosen down the left side of the page. Write you poems. You could use fancy or colored letters to show the word you have chosen.
